Battle Charter 2017

Lunch time on Sunday 7th May saw Battle and Villages Lions Club members and their guests sitting down to a formal lunch at Bannatyne Spa Hotel in Battle Road at Hastings to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of their founding with fellow lions from other clubs in the southeast, including Hastings, Bexhill, Hailsham, Uckfield and Thanet.

Although one of the smallest clubs in the southeast, Battle and Villages Lions Club is renowned for its support, amongst other charitable matters, of the Lions International Blood Research Appeal (LIBRA) with its annual 2 Hour Team Endurance Go Kart Championship, and this was referred to in the speech given bytheir District Governor Elect, Jackie Robinson, when she presented the outgoing Battle Lions President, Lion Rod Eldridge, with his 10 year service chevron.

Incoming President Lion Paul Webb took the opportunity to thank his fellow club members for their support at the May Day Fair at Hastings, when they had great fun and raised £133 toward their Charity Fund with their popular China Smashing Stall.

Why not join us in giving service to the community and raising funds for both local and international charitable causes and have fun and fellowship at the same time. The Club meets at 8pm on the second Monday of each month at the Royal Oak Public House in Whatlington.
