Emergency Wash Bags for Neo-Natal Unit

Following their successful running of the 1066- Way to Battle Cross Country race, Battle Lions have wasted no time in returning to their usual projects.

Whilst the Lions support both local and international commitments, their commitment to spend money raised locally in the community for the community’s benefit came to the fore with their recent unanimous and rapid approval of an appeal for money to provide, through the charity Friends of Freya, emergency wash bags with appropriate contents for use in the Maternity and Neo-Natal units at the Conquest Hospital by parents who, when rushed to hospital with their children when emergency strikes, find themselves at the hospital unexpectedly without the necessities of life. The Lions approved the sum £120 to enable some additional small treats to be included in each of the bags and undertook to provide more as and when they are required by the Hospital.

On Friday the 28th October Battle Lion’s President Rod Eldridge accompanied by Lion Wendy Cattaway took the washbags to the Conquest Hospital in St Leonards and presented them to the Special Baby Care Unit. Inside each bag is a card stating Battle and Villages Lions Club are proud to sponsor this bag and to support Friends of Freya.
